This was my first experimentation, i used some illustrations i had already created. I used the magic wand tool to delete the orignial colour. The detail that was originally drawn stayed in the illustration, this made using the technique of filling a ares with a defined pattern hard. I also wanted the area with the pattern to be flat, so you only focus on the pattern not the detail.
I wanted to add a head to the image to create the collage effect more. I felt this effect did not work and drew away from the illustration pattern and images. I also added my own photos from LA and Hong Kong to the back round to create the digital collage effect. The same technique as Waldemar Strempler.
final line up - this is a much simpler image and the illustration and patterns are clearer to see.
This was my first experimentation with my final drawings/illustrations inspired my the DVF illustrations. I used the same technique as the others by deleting the area to fill with the pattern with the magic wand tool. Then filling then with my refined Patterns.
I used my own pictures of landscapes as my background to add to the digital collage effect. The use of the landscape photographs was inspired by Waldemar Strempler. i did not want them to just become a flat image, so i took the magic wand tool and clicked randomly on the image and deleted ares to create of a more traditional collage layered effect.
