In September 2016 I gave her a copy of my book containing her story, titled My Favourite Veterans: True Stories From World War Two's Hometown Heroes.  This former military nurse, who served in Italy and Europe, will be one hundred years old in December. She creid when I gave her the book, and said: "Now I'm glad I lived so long after all!"
