Cartimandua, queen of the Brigantes from 43 - 69. She was 1 of 11 kings that surrendered to Claudius w/o a fight. When Caratacus sought sanctuary w/ Cartimandua, she handed him over to Scapula. This enraged her husband, Venutius. She divorced Venutius & replaced him with his armor-bearer. Rome protected her from Venutius at some point b/t 52 - 57, but during the year of 4 emperors, Venutius staged a revolt, & Cartimandua fled. Was Cartimandua a precursor to Guinevere.
