Eagle, Great Horned Owl and other Wild Bird Photographs by Deb Simon

The owl is sacred to the Greek goddess of learning. Native Americans associated the meaning with wisdom, foresight & keeper of sacred knowledge. Ancient Egyptian, Celtic, and Hindu cultures revolved around guardianship of the underworlds, and a protection of the dead; honored as the keeper of spirits who had passed from one plane to another; ruler of the night and seer of souls.

Animal symbolism of the owl is deep and intense. The mystery of magic, omens, and vision in the night. The bird of prophecy and wisdom.
