... this cookbook was a birthday present from my brother-in-law & his wife and I love it!! All the delicious persian recipes are written in German! :D Today I made "Nan-Ghandie" (sweet bread)... because I was curious how it tastes. ;) The taste is interesting, ... but after eating some pieces of the bread I got used to the taste and am actually liking it now (y)
... today my evening activity was baking a bread for breakfast :) this recipe is so easy but you have to be patient because the dough has to rise for at least 12 hours... so I usually prepare the dough in the morning. Check out this very useful tutorial-video by a dear friend https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELqRh2lDQgU ... you also should definitely check out her blog "nade in the kitchen" on facebook and the internet https://nadeinthekitchen.wordpress.com/
OMG! I am in heaven!! <3 Today [for the first time!!] I made homemade prezel buns! I have always loved all kinds of prezel, but that these homemade prezel buns would turn out sooo good I didn't expect! I can't stop eating them... :D Check out this recipe (in German): http://carointhekitchen.com/laugenknoten-pretzel-knots/
I love trying out new things! A dear friend of mine has an elderflower bush in her backyard and she encouraged me to have a go at making homemade 'Elderberry Syrup'. It was my first try and it's actually quite easy ; it's sweet and yummy!
... I just love trying out new recipes! Few days ago I found a recipe how to make "Joghurt-Hörnchen" (some kind of croissant) and of course I had to try it out :) It's not so easy to make a puff pastry but I tried my best. The Joghurt-Hörnchen turned out quite well and my hubby also liked them :) But next time I will try to make it more fluffily by creating more layers of dough and butter. [by the way, I just love my grandmother's tableware ♥] I found the (German) recipe here: http://knusp
... I just made some Nut Bars :D it is so easy and they smell & taste so yummie!! The ingredients are: 100 g Butter, 200 g Honey, 350 g different nuts and a pinch of salt. Mix all the ingredients in a hot pan and spread the mixture in a cake pan. It has to bake in the oven for 20 minutes (190 degree celsius). Let it cool down and cut it into pieces. Voila!
today we ate the leftovers from yesterday. We were invited to a fun-evening with potluck and I made fried noodles :). Since I still had dried chilis at home I decided to also make a homemade sambal today.
... today we had a friend coming over for a visit and since he is eating vegan I wanted to serve him a vegan sweet. The result was: chocolate balls mixed with jam that were covered with chocolate powder, filled with caramel sauce and garnished with chopped walnuts. ... he said he liked them :)
... we had some very ripe bananas at home, so I decided to make a banana-cake. Usually I cover the banana cake with dark chocolate and desiccated coconut. But today I wanted to try out something new ... banana-cake with homemade caramel syrup and roasted hazelnuts :)
... usually when I feel tired or am unmotivated to work on my Master's Thesis ... I do housework (which I actually quite enjoy) or I bake. Today I did both ;-) for the first time I tried to make a so called "poppy-seed plaited bun" (Mohnstriezel) and I love it!! I found the recipe on youtube (sorry guys it's only in German): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfciPJxgN90&index=7&list=PLqk7lMoeI8kgW6TgDngQJfeCZQwo8S9gP
