Florida Worm Lizard (Rhineura floridana) - posted in Snakes, Lizards, Turtles, Crocks and Gators: This morning while pulling weeds in our yard, this fellow popped out of the soil right in front of me!  After watching and photographing him I released him in the same spot, and he burrowed right back into the soil. For those who dont know, the Florida Worm Lizard is actually not a lizard, but is of the suborder Amphisbaenia, the only species of this suborder native to North America....
