Heros von Borcke - known as the “giant in gray.” Over 6'4" in height, well over 200 lbs he joined the Confederate Army. Slipped thru Union blockade at Charleston harbor. Speaking little English, joined staff of Maj Gen J.E.B. Stuart.  Known as “Von" to Stuart, he acquired a growing reputation for bravery until severely wounded at Middleburg, 1863. Returned to his Prussian castle to recuperate; where he flew the Confederate flag until his death in 1895. He named his daughter "Virginia ".

Heros von Borcke, a massive Prussian dude 200 lbs) who decided to come to America and join the staff of Confederate General J. This guy was a straight-up bawss. Carried a huge sword too (which can be seen in the museum at the Gettysburg VC).
