Acid-Free Buffered Tissue. Use un-buffered for silks and wools, buffered for cotton and linen. Although some advocate unbuffered for everything (it is more expensive). Comes in sheets and large rolls. I get the 40" wide rolls. But then I also have a stand to hang the rolls on.
This is more informational. PVC pipe, available at any hardware store in many diameters, is great to roll lengths of lace on. Just cut it to size (plastic pipe cutters also available at the hardware store), cover with acid free paper, roll the lace (relief to the outside), cover with more paper (some people use an additional outer layer of stiffer paper), tie with a cotton tape, label, and put it in your acid free box. Or hang rolls on a dowel in a closed cabinet.
