Our desk read this morning: a fabulous advance of The Great Aaa-Ooo by the super talented Out August (September in the US)

this is a great book for an art project, especially the way she did it, starting with The Dot and then the dot "goes for a walk" and becomes a line

I used this book for one of my lessons in the UNT child development lab with the preschoolers. It was fun to teach them about creating lines with various tools like yarn, markers, and pipe cleaners.

Lucy & Company by Marianne Dubuc Childhood is magical! I think that is partly because children are so full of curiosity and wonder and they take pleasure in the simplest things that can sometimes be taken for granted. This is a book that beautifully captures the simplicity and beauty of childhood and it’s everyday adventures. When I read it, it brings back memories of my own childhood and I cannot help but smile.
