The Garden of Allah in Hollywood was a prison and a playground, a sanctuary and a glorified whorehouse, where the greats of Hollywood's golden years could carry on their private lives unobserved by the public eye.
"The Garden of Alla,": Russian actress Alla Nazimova built the original mansion, known as "The Garden of Alla," at 8080 Sunset Boulevard. Soon thereafter, she built a complex of 25 villas around the mansion and changed the complex name to "Garden of Allah."The villa complex, which surrounded the mansion, had the address of 8152 Sunset Boulevard. The Garden of Allah was a popular destination for figures in literary and film circles during in mid 30s to the mid 40s. Demolished in June 1959
