As a foliage plant this easy to grow perennial is tops. Finely divided fern like leaves in intense silver white carpet the ground on this low growing plant. In summer button-like flowers of light yellow appear above the foliage. Adapted to hot and dry locations with little water once established. Drought tolerant and cold hardy. To 6" tall and spreading to 2' wide in well drained soil and full sun.

Penstemon pinifolius - Its season of color lasts for about two months during the late Spring & early Summer (some say much longer) with many spikes of tubular red blooms. Out of bloom, it looks a bit like a miniature conifer because of its needle-like leaves & woody base. Growing to around 1’ high & wide, it really prefers a well drained soil & a very sunny spot in the garden.
Callistemon pallidus ‘Blue Leaved Form’ Stunning cold hardy bottlebrush with striking blue leaves and new growth that emerges clothed in metallic silver hairs. Moderately fast growing to 12’ tall and 8’ wide in 5 years. In May and June large 5” long by 2” wide yellow bottlebrush flowers combine with the blue leaves to great effect. Best in a protected location in full hot sun. May be pruned after blooming to limit size and encourage density. Regular water, not fussy about soil.
