You can dismiss it by seeing it as "a tumblr post" but as a person living with mental illnesses including PTSD, this is 100% true.

I can't talk about my triggers because as soon as I even say the word, my head fills with people (including my own brother) laughing and joking about mental illnesses, not to mention I get made fun of for bringing up said triggers.

I am surrounded by more friends than ever.  Having lived with someone who suffers with a mental illness and doesn't acknowledge it,  has been the biggest mistake of my life. I have learned so much about communication and how important it is for people in a romantic relationship to share every thought. It's too bad that I still and will always love her because she is taking her ill parents' advice and her life will be a waste.

Help spread the word. It is very easy to judge and make assumptions until you've experienced this in yourself, or in family and friends. Go easy on others as we educate and fight the stigma and misunderstandings around mental illness, depression, anxiety, etc. -DCT; "Saying to someone who has depression, "What have you got to be depressed about? You have a great life!" Is the same as saying to an asthmatic, "What do you mean you can't breathe? There's lots of air in here?"

Love this, I believe mental health is very misunderstood. I think it's statements like this that help open people's eyes. I wish more people would learn facts instead of judge. This includes depression, and a whole host of other mental problems.

The fact that I have at least two, possibly three of these makes me think more positively on my  problems

So true! I have never been an attention seeker at all. My goal here is to be able to figure my fucking shitty situation out and hopefully help people in my sitauation.

It  is a healthy reminder that it's OK to take time to yourself to collect your thoughts and feelings. It's important to have good self care. Taking times to relax is and important part of everyone's self care.
