Closer view of jacket front, 1912 walking suit. The jacket was underlined in silk organza to give it stability, and lined in a dark grey silk satin. (Incidentally, the proper couture term for a fabric sewn to the garment pieces when flat, prior to construction, is "underlining", not "flat lining", as seems to have become popular lately).
Close-up of the jacket to the 1912 linen walking suit. The jacket is a masterfully designed example of Edwardian couture, the side fronts and side backs being cut-in-one with the sleeves.
The bodice of the 1909 evening gown, showing hand-applied pink silk satin rouleaux trim and details of metallic gold net and lace overbodice. The silk chiffon guimpe was finished with an edging of natural freshwater pearls along the neckline, and pink pearls and clear Swarovski crystals were applied as accents on the overbodice.

Detail of bodice, showing embroidery. I worked the embroidery in DMC fine cotton floss, using the original antique embroidery design.
