IRISH SETTER Bred for hunting, the Irish setter was specifically trained for setting or locating and pointing upland game birds. Using their keen sense of smell to locate their mark, the setter will then hold the pointing position they are very well-known for to indicate the direction in which their mark is hidden.
Irish Setters are wonderful with little children, I know, I had Meghan and one child was riding her like a horse one was pulling her tail and one was pulling a bone from her mouth and she behaved herself.

Not a golden, but a distant relative - Irish Setter has those same soulful eyes Beautiful, but not too bright unfortunately. My setter had a heart of gold, but couldn't concentrate much more than a blink of an eye.
