I grow increasingly concerned about the use of text based DSLs for 'testing' rather than writing code. Mainly because we are losing the support that IDEs provide for refactoring, code completion, syntax checking to make creation and maintenance easier. Particularly as we move towards code for configuration, infrastructure. I prefer code based DSLs rather than text based DSLs. I think text based DSLs and dynamic scripting languages require a better memory and a better ability to 'design it…

In "The Infernal Device" by Michael Kurland we learn that Professor Moriarty performs "Consulting". And At what does he consult? "I solve problems. Very occasionally I perform services. My rates vary with the difficulty of the task." He does not guarantee success instead he works to "minimize the chance of failure". I can relate to these statements.
