Comte de Chambord est une des meilleures roses anciennes parfumées. Sans doute le plus beau rosier dans cette famille des Portland. Buisson de 1 m à port dressé, vigoureux avec un joli feuillage vert clair. Bouton de belle forme, s'ouvrant en rose lilacé, fleur très double aux pétales enroulés, souvent en quartiers. Parfum sublime. Bonne remontée, assez bonne résistance aux maladies.  Portland, Moreau-Robert, 1860.

Bred in France in 1863 by Moreau-Robert, this was a cross of Rosa 'Baronne Prevost' and a Portland Rose. Named after Henri, the comte de Chambord, a pretender to the French throne.
