ETHEL BARRYMORE (1879-1959)  was an American actress & a member of the Barrymore family of actors. Regarded as the "First Lady of the American Theater", Barrymore was a stage & film actress & her career spanned 6 decades. Her 1st film "The Nightingale" (1914). She made 15 silent films; In the 1940s, she moved to Hollywood. One film was with her brothers, "Rasputin & the Empress." Won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress in 1944's "None But the Lonely Heart."
