For eight-year-old Oscar, every Wednesday is a special day: it is the day he gets to visit the toy library at his Compassion centre in El Salvadaor. Many children living in poverty, like Oscar, don’t have the luxury of having toys in their homes where the focus is more on basic survival needs, such as buying food. But in the library, Oscar and his friends get the chance to simply be kids as they play and learn together.

Kids say the funniest things, and sometimes they pray for the funniest things too! When little Carlos David turned two, he started learning to pray through one of Compassion's local church partners in Mexico. “It was so cute to hear him pray for the chickens and the cat!” says his mum Helda.

She always gave me love through her actions.” After 20-year-old Anderson’s parents abandoned him when he was young, it was his devoted grandmother who raised him as her own son. With years of love and support from his grandmother and Compassion, Anderson has now grown into a bright young man with a heart for serving his community. #Colombia

Luz Maria was dedicated to finding a way for Emily to have surgery, but living in a small rural community in #Ecuador made it extremely difficult. Thankfully, she found hope with Compassion. Local staff organised for Emily to have the operation and covered the extra expenses involved. Now Emily is stronger, healthier and developing well - just like the other children her age.

Compassion helped cover the costs of the surgery and Estheysi was able to have the surgery she so urgently needed. Now the bubbly toddler is healthy and happy with the most adorable grin!
