This pound cake has a heavy dose of butter, cream cheese, and eggs, which gives it the velvety texture on the inside and the heavenly sweet crust. The cake bakes in a low oven which takes a little more time to bake but is well worth the wait.
Paula Deen Mama’s Pound Cake I made a half of this pound cake only because I didn't have enough sugar. I still used 5 fresh hen eggs because they were very small. It tastes just as good as when I make the whole cake. I make cream cheese icing with lots of walnuts too.
