Explore Athens Greece, The Goddess, and more!

Good morning World....This is a reconstructed neoclassical Athenian acroceram. Its fragments were found in a heap of demolition debris thrown at the side of an empty lot. Nobody noticed them until a scavenger of ''wasted beauty'' could SEE the goddess Dimitra's sad smile covered by mud...It reminds me of the fragments of my country...I wonder who can SEE their hidden beauty and reconstruct it again...@

Athens--This is looking down from on top of the Acropolis. I looked down and whispered to my friend "we are in Greece but that is a Roman theater because the stage is a partial circle with a wall, instead of a full circle..." (I had just taken theater history). Less than a minute later the guide pointed down and said "Herodian's Theater here was remodeled by the Romans when they were here in [some year]..." :) Point for me. :)
