Covering a period of nearly 200 years, the book reaches from the illustrious Messenger through to the champions of current times. Messenger sired in an era when racing was confined to private contests with side wagers. This was the main form of racing when horses were imported to Australia a century later. The first trotting stallion imported to Australia was Daniel Boon in 1869. The importations have helped to firmly establish the bloodlines in Australia & New Zealand.
