Rutherford B Hayes  #19. He might not have been the best president but he sure understood the significance of history. His home is full of things rescued from a later White House remodeling - things that were going to be scrapped, like the White House gates.  He also would have famous visitors hug a tree on his property and dedicate that tree to that person.
