E. M. Forster OM, CH (1 Jan 1879–7 June 1970), English novelist, short story writer, essayist and librettist. He is known best for his ironic and well-plotted novels examining class difference and hypocrisy in early 20th-century British society. His novels include Howards End, A Room with a View,  A Passage to India, and the posthumously published homosexual love story Maurice. Forster was a closeted homosexual and lifelong bachelor, living with his mother until her death.

Louisa May Alcott (29 November 1832—6 March 1888) was an American novelist. She is best known for the novel Little Women and its sequels Little Men and Jo's Boys. Little Women was set in the Alcott family home, Orchard House in Concord, Massachusetts, and published in 1868. This novel is loosely based on her childhood experiences with her three sisters.

This rare, early photo of Helen Keller and Annie Sullivan was discovered in 2008, by a staff member of the New England Historic Genealogical Society who was going through a large photography collection that was recenty donated. It is the earliest photo of Helen with her teacher and the only known photo of Helen with one of her dolls which were important in her education.
