The GAR Building 1900 - As GAR (Grand Army of the Republic) membership was restricted to veterans of the Civil War Union Army, their numbers dwindled through the beginning part of the 20th century. The GAR building was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 13, 1986.

The Fisher Building (1928) is a landmark Art Deco skyscraper located at 3011 West Grand Boulevard in the heart of the New Center area of Detroit, MI.  The Fisher family financed the building with proceeds from the sale of Fisher Body to General Motors. It houses office and retail space as well as the elaborate 2,089 seat Fisher Theatre.  Fisher Building was designated a National Historic Landmark 29 June 1989.
