Trent Bridge and the Midlands Industrial Exhibition, Nottingham, 1903-04. The Midlands Industrial Exhibition stood on the banks of the River Trent for little more than 400 days, before being destroyed by fire. Along with the Industrial Hall, was the Ivory Palace displaying goods from around the world and a funfair with Canadian Water Chute, American roller-coaster and the Fairy River. An electrical fault in the Fairy River sparked the blaze that engulfed the entire exhibition.
