After reading Charlie and Chocolate Factory, my students recreate their favorite room from the book in a diorama. The materials that they use are of their choosing. They are not allowed to base it on the movie. No two "Chocolate Rooms" are every the same. They also write a small paper to go along with the project. They write about the materials that they used and the process in which they made the project. This is a great way to reinforce "strong" verbs and "colorful" adjectives.
