Sweet, but not syrupy sweet. Fruity with a lingering finish. A simple Brachetto.
Domaine Loubejac Rose - Willamette Valley - Pinot Noir - Light pink in color. Intense nose of raspberry and strawberry. Fairly light in body. Dry and fruity. A simple rose, but a good one. Great for a summer aperitif.
2011 Guado al Tasso Vermentino - Light straw yellow. Not so intense on the nose. Some minerals; some citrus fruits. A bit thin in the mouth as well, almost watery. I think it was a bit past its prime. The 2013 was drinking much better.
Mailly Brut Reserve Grand Cru Champagne - Straw yellow with fine and numerous bubbles. Wonderful toast and some floral notes on the nose. Excellent acidity with fruity notes, especially peach on the palate.
*2006 Ferrari Perle Nero Extra Brut, 12.5% - 100% Pinot Nero Straw yellow with tiny, numerous bubbles. Intense on the nose with lightly baked bread and delicate fruits. Very nice. It's dry, warm (somehow), soft, fresh and tasty. Balanced. Med+ body with baked bread on the palate. BP: Buy
Berlucchi Cuvee Imperial Franciacorta Brut Lightly greenish yellow in color. Pleasantly fruity on the nose with good persistency of bubbles. Dry on the palate with a good freshness. A pleasant aperitif of celebratory beverage.
