Kalki, the future incarnation of Viṣṇu. He is shown here seated on a decorated platform holding a double bladed sword and a bow. He is of a dark complexion and is lavishly bejewelled. A golden crown rests on his head and he is shown in profile. Behind Kalki stands a white horse, a common symbol of Kalki. The horse wears an elaborately decorated saddle and bridle and tucked into the saddle are two chauris (fly-whisks). Company School, Patna, 19th century.
