The advent of television also prompted the improvement of image recording.  This led to advancements on the video camera.  In 1927 Philo Farnsworth perfected the image dissector, built for the “conversion and dissecting of light”.  As he advanced the dissector, he eventually came up with a CRT tube.  However, it wasn’t very focused or sensitive.  This led up to the Zworykin iconoscope, a much more sensitive image scanner and the image orthicon, which combined several scanning technologies.
