Grab the Dragon number game found at Frog Spot. Change it to a literacy game- write a different word on each. The one who can make the best (longest, etc)sentence the quickest- wins.

Dot counting game: turns rolling a number die and the color die. If we rolled a "3" and a "teal" then we would put 3 teal dots on a piece of paper. We weren't making any special pictures, we were just going to play until the paper was filled up

What a fun game! Make two dice: one with numbers, and one with colors. Roll the dice, then use dot stamps to make that number of dots in that color on your paper. My adaption would be to have the dice be a doubles dice to practice double math facts

Unifix cubes are a concrete representation of addition/number bonds. Building the bond with the Unifix cubes is what develops number sense. Great use for flash cards instead of looking for just memorization

Textured sequence sticks.  Use hot glue gun.  Have kids write down or draw pictures of their observations - describe in detail how each one feels, compare the materials and see if they can figure out what each is made from (metal, plastic, etc.)

These popsicle sticks are great for teaching braille numbers with tactile items to count! Make your own for an inexpensive fun learning toy at home, school or therapy.
