Ninth plate tintype of Samuel W. Weatherall of Pontotoc, Mississippi.  He was a private in Captain John H. Miller's Pontotoc Dragoons that eventually became Cole's Company, 1st Battalion (Miller's) Mississippi Cavalry.  He was promoted to 1st Lieutenant of Company C, 2nd Battalion (Harris') Mississippi State Cavalry and captured near Egypt Station in late 1864.  He is pictured in an early war image with striped trousers and a secession ribbon.  Taken May 6, 1861 at Harrisburg, Mississippi.

Terry "Harmonica" Bean - Terry “Harmonica” Bean is still relatively young, but has decades of experience with the blues. A lifelong resident of Pontotoc, Bean first heard downhome blues at home. His father Eddie Bean, a native of Bruce, sang and played blues guitar and prior to Terry’s birth traveled with an electric blues band.

A hobo and refugee from the old Southern medicine shows who sang and played like a throwback from the 1920s, he was as colorful as they come, and a case could be made that without Frank there wouldn't have been an Elvis. He was born   on October 11, 1908, in Toccopola, MS, Pontotoc County
