He has indeed since proven his own abilities and his talent for strong original songs and his extraordinary aptitude for playing electric guitar was recognized nationally in 2005 when he received a Juno for Best Blues Album.

Alan Wilson, guitarist, singer, harmonica player and primary songwriter in Canned Heat, died at age 27 in 1970 from an overdose of barbiturates. He helped found the quintessential boogie group, and wrote and sang lead on the its two biggest hits, ‘On the Road Again’ and ‘Going Up the Country.’
