Bruiser my absolute favorite book I've ever read. The first book I ever read that started me on my journey of a book lover.

A book about a boy who absorbs all the injuries his loved ones receive.a decent book but has no real climax or lead up to the ending.

Number the Stars (1989) by Lois Lowry.  The book is set in Copenhagen during the Holocaust. It follows a family who is good friends with a family of Jews. When the Germans plan to get rid of all the Jews, the family decides to help them to safety. They take them to a family home by the sea and smuggle them off to Sweden until the war ends.

Number The Stars, Lois Lowry I remember reading this back in third grade. A very, very good book.
