疏林亭子圖, painted by Ni Zan (倪瓚), Yuan Dynasty. Ni Zan was born into an elite family who could afford the cost of a rigorous Confucian education for him in spite of the unavailability of high-paying governmental jobs that traditionally were the reward for such an education. He was one of a number of wealthy scholars and poets who were part of a movement that radically altered traditional conceptions of Chinese painting.

Soga Shohaku  曽我簫白「虎図」. 曾我蕭白,(1730年-1781年),日本江戶時代的畫家。他學習狩野派繪畫,而後卻形成自己懷舊的室町水墨畫風格。他的很多作品都用單色水墨,筆法雄渾有力。其最為著名的,是取材自中國傳奇和民間故事人物肖像畫和風景畫。
