I need to go to the mutter museum. I love human oddities! I went to the Mutter Museum over the summer. It was the coolest place I've ever been. They didn't allow pictures, which I understand, but I was still a little bummed.
Annie Edson Taylor~an American Adventurer who, on her birthday, October became the first person to survive a trip over Niagara Falls in a barrel. She is pictured with the cat she sent over the falls in the barrel a few days earlier to test its strength.
Myrtle Corbin was able to control the limbs of her sister but was unable to use them for walking. She herself had a difficult time getting around as she was born with a clubbed foot. Technically, the ‘Four-Legged Woman’ only had one usable leg.
Lotti (or Lette) and Rosemarie (or Gitta) Knaak were born in Hamburg, Germany, in 1951. Joined at the tops of their heads, the Knaak twins were exhibited by their parents at fairs and festivals throughout Germany. Dr. Peter Roettigen of Bonn University originally agreed to perform the surgery, but it wasn't until 1957, when the twins were nearly six years old, that they were separated. Lotti died in surgery.
