Acer palmatum ´Atropurpureum´ Japanese maple Has delicate, divided leaves which turn brilliant red in autumn. A fine specimen for a sheltered site in a small garden. Prune in winter only when young to remove any bad shoots.
We have a japanese maple tree that was planted too close to an apple tree by the previous owner. It got crushed by a falling branch and had to be trimmed back. It has bounced back amazingly well but I wonder if I can transplant it somewhere safer?
