I thought this book was very good. It was a very appropriate book for middle schoolers. I loved how it made you want to keep reading. Suspense was created very nicely by the author. This book has very few inappropriate parts. I would recommend this book to people in grades 7-9. I also loved how there was a lot of describing words and details in it.
Paige’s transformation from shallow and boring to thoughtful and interesting is a great one to read. This is also a great book for anyone who is interested in writing and how it can be used as a creative outlet. --Colleen
The thirteen-year-old from Kosova thinks of herself as a typical American schoolgirl. But for her parents, moving to Maine was just a sad necessity, a way to escape from war and find medical care for a daughter scarred up to her chin. But then a hateful event changes everything -- forcing residents old and new to reexamine what it means to be an American. PB 9780763634155 Age 12 & up
