First Grade Social Studies Map & Physical Features Book

This book is excellent for teaching map skills. It could be used during free-reading time, a literature center, or whole group instruction. Along with teaching map skills, students are also learning phonological awareness through rhyming words and word patterns.

Anne- I would read this book before beginning a unit on map reading. Construct and interpret maps and other representations to navigate a familiar place.
