3rd Grade biography project. I would use this in my class because it is not your average boring book report.

I like this idea - "Third grade biography project. Student becomes the historical person when presenting their poster." Would also work for characters during a book report!

Another way you can have student give reports or short essays about inventors, characters or researched and historical characters. Kids love to express themselves and it is cute; (would be a neat way to have plays or Holiday recitals).

Grade - Language Arts - Students wrote a biography about the person they chose then they made a poster board cut out of that person and read their report to the class--Could do this for scientist report

President's Day Activities - Persuasive writing

While Alexandra, first grade teacher and creator of The First Grade Sweet Life, originally used this activity as part of her President's Day lessons, we think this would work great as part of an Election/Government Unit too!

Biography Bottles @ The Millbrae Library by San Mateo County Library, via Flickr-biography book report

This is a biography bottle. The students used water bottles to make the body of the famous person they were studying. Most social studies classes have a biography unit and this would be such a fun way to make a visual to go along with the presentation.

Grammar Journals ... interesting way to teach/integrate grammar lessons. Left side is the grammar lesson with rules; right side is their attempts at using it in their own way with a writing prompt. Then, you assess them during the week as a "bellringer"or "do now" assignment.
