Essex textile artist Sharon Blackman uses recycled textiles, buttons and applique techniques for her creations. Simple pleasures like crunchy autumn leaves, home baking, The Darling Buds of May, the colour green, the scent of bluebells, a trusty old book, staying in on rainy days, warm tea and apple cake are captured in her work.

I didn't realise how long it had been since I last blogged... Hope you like them.... These are just a few of several pictures I've done late...

A piece by Sharon Blackman. I think she mainly uses hand embroidery, but a piece like this would work very well with free motion machine embroidery too. Note the way she uses small scraps of printed fabric to form the background to her flowers .

Thanks to everyone who has taken an interest, said lovely things & encouraged me throughout the year. Hope you all have a wonderful christm...
