Westway flyover construction (late 60s) over Portobelllo Road. The building site shed is where the Westway market canopy now stands! At the time there used to be a weekend flea market on the waste ground with fly pitchers! This became the Westway Market which started the N.K.A.T. https://rbkclocalstudies.wordpress.com/2012/02/23/the-writing-on-the-wall-old-school-graffiti-in-kensington-and-chelsea/ By Dave Walker from Roger Perry and George Melly’s 1976 book on London graffiti

Early '70s photo of Westway Market under the motorway! It all started in the '60s with a 'flea market' on waste ground by the motorway building site.
