A Silver washed fritillary

A Silver-washed Fritillary (Argynnis paphia), feeding on Origanum vulgare - wild oregano.One of two beautiful butterfly firsts for me today - I'm SO happy to have made their acquaintance! Such incredible patterning on this one!

This is a day flying moth, seen feeding here on Origanum vulgare.  The Burnet moths aren't the easiest to identify - I think this is a Six-Spot Burnet.
