In 1981 the Carpet Museum Trust was founded with the aim of ‘establishing a public museum or museums for the exhibition of items of local historical and educational interest and in particular in any way connected with the manufacture of carpets and similar textiles’. I am a museum mentor to the trust. They open their HLF funded museum at Stour Vale Mill in October 2012.
