Ranthambore Fort

Ranthambore Fort is one of the six forts included in the UNESCO’s World Heritage Site petrograph Hill Forts of Rajasthan. It is placed near the town of Sawai Madhopur , Rajasthan India. The Fort is famous for the aura and gallantry of King Hammir Dev of the Chauhan clan. This is a daunting fort of Rajasthan and it has been a focal point of historical events.

Ranthambore National Park name came from 9th century old #Ranthambore #Fort, which is located in sawai madhopur #Rajasthan #India and surrounded by vindhyas and Aravali hills. Ranthambore #Fort was founded by nagils jat in 944 AD. The fort is 700 feet above the surrounding plain. Its earlier name of the fort was Ranastambha or Ranastambhapura , it is known as also Pillars of war. In 12th century, it was associated with Jainism during the reign of Prithviraja I of #Chauhan dynasty. A temple of Mallinatha was built in the fort In #Mughal period.
