The Friesian Breed originated in the Netherlands. Although the breed resembles a light draft horse they actually are very graceful and elegant for their size and conformation. The Friesian horse can range from 15 to 17 hands and (today) are manly used for dressage due to how “nimble” and “majestic” they are. The Friesian horse is usually a very dark brown or pure black.
