In the Politically Correct environment of the UK, Golliwogs have become a rare sight. I've even heard stories of the British police removing Golliwogs from shop windows "in case they caused offence." Not so in Hobart, Tasmania, where the Golliwog is just a lovable kid's doll, like it was when I was a boy in the sensible 60s.
