In 1997 I was working at a power station in Pakistan. Along the coast at Gaddani was a ship-breakers, the type you find in the Far East when the unfortunate ship is dragged up on the beach and devoured by hundreds of men with cutting torches and no health & safety. The usual fare of oil tankers and container ships were quite interesting, but nothing prepared us for the surprise when SS Canberra, the pride of the P&O fleet, turned up one day.
