Rabbits are very…amorous…animals and they can have kits from as young as 4 months old! This is why neutering is vastly important to prevent unwanted litters. Not only does neutering prevent unwanted litters, but it can help with rabbit training, reduce aggression, prevent several forms of cancer, and help with bonding too! If you are a rabbit owner, or are thinking of adopting pet rabbits, please take responsibility and make sure to get your rabbits neutered.

With New Year’s Eve nearly upon us, it’s time to start thinking about the big issues! No, not New Year resolutions – fireworks! 🎆 As every rabbit owner will know, fireworks are very distressing to rabbits and, regardless as to whether you have indoor or outdoor rabbits, please make sure that you - and your buns - are well prepared for the busy night ahead. Flystrike is an awful disease that is extremely painful for your buns and can be fatal. However, it can be prevented. Flies are attracted by faeces, urine and rotting foods, so make sure to check your rabbits’ bottoms regularly and ensure their housing is clean. Although Flystrike can occur any time of the year, it’s especially common during the summer when the weather is hot and flies abundant. When it comes to Flystrike, it’s always better to be safe than sorry! Mini Lop Bunnies, Bunny Mom, Bunny Care Tips, Pet Rabbit Care, Raising Rabbits, Indoor Rabbit

Unbeknownst to many new rabbit owners, rabbits require annual vaccinations to protect them against several painful and deadly diseases, such as #Myxomatosis and #RVHD1 & #RVHD2. These diseases can be carried on our clothes, skin, and shoes and on other pets' feet and fur. As the weather improves and we spend more time in the great outdoors, the risk of transmission increases, so there is no time like the present to ensure your rabbits are up to date on their vaccinations. Rabbits are living, breathing animals, not seasonal gifts or children’s pets. We cannot have any more rabbits abandoned at rescue centres after the holiday is over because a ‘whimsical’ Easter gift has become too costly or a burden. We are already in a rabbit rescue crisis and Easter is a growing concern for so many rescues. Please do not give into the hype and marketing around ‘Easter Bunnies’. Rabbits are a 10-year commitment, not just for Easter. Buy A Rabbit, Animal Rescue Fundraising, Seasonal Gifts, Cruel, Wanted
PLEASE DO NOT GIVE RABBITS AS EASTER GIFTS! 🙅🎁🐇

As a result of the surge in rabbit sales during the lockdown, rescue centres are full to capacity with unwanted and abandoned pet rabbits. Due to this, we are urging an immediate hiatus on the sale of pet rabbits. Please, if you or someone you know is thinking of getting pet rabbits, adopt don’t shop. Too many pet rabbits still need their forever home, and rescues cannot take in any more buns - so you can imagine what happens to those that have nowhere to go 😔 Please share our message. Christmas can be a stressful time for many – so imagine how your rabbits feel! Rabbits are very sensitive to change, and at Christmastime this means extra company, strange smells, loud noises and music, and changes to their surroundings. The best thing to do is to be aware of these changes so you can help keep life as normal as possible for your buns. Keep them away from company, soundproof their housing for parties and fireworks, and keep the strong smells at bay. Holly and mistletoe (particularly the berries) are toxic to rabbits and should definitely be kept out of reach. Contrary to belief poinsettias are not actually toxic to rabbits, but the milk-like sap it produces can upset your buns’ tums, so it’s still advisable to keep these out of reach. Pine needles are mildly toxic and while they won’t cause any severe harm, they can cause irritation, discomfort, and possibly diarrhoea, so no rockin’ around the Christmas tree! Common Garden Plants, Monkshood, Small Purple Flowers, Wood Sorrel, Cow Parsley
