[Lovers in a forest] Endré. Lithograph with hand colouring, c.1920. Image 350 x 245 mm. Endré was an illustrator and print maker active in France in the 1920s and 30s. Working in the distinctive Art Deco style, his work was often used to illustrate the fashionable satirical journal 'Le Sourire'. Best-known for his series 'Le gigolo a travers les ages', Endré's work was often influenced by historical costume, erotica, fairy tales and mythology.
