Tops and Bottoms by Janet Stevens from First Grade Fever! This would be great for teaching the different types of roots

Tops and Bottoms book f/u chart. Perfect for plants unit! I would add a picture next to each word for pre-k students. Making this an interactive chart using velcro would be a great hands on activity for this age group as well.

Pushes, pulls and The enormous turnip

I was given a group task at uni to creat a science display on the topic of pushes and pulls. As I am specialising in early years we had to aim it at the ages of years olds. We chose to use the story of The Enormous Turnip as a stimulus.

Vegetable investigation. A mix of vegetables, including lots of unfamiliar ones for the children to explore, encouraging them to use all their senses, and lots of language skills.
